SHORTENING A PAVER INSCRIPTION
Pavers have a 50 character, 4-line limit.
Make sure you haven’t included extra spaces or extra line breaks (by hitting Enter too many
times.)
If you’ve chosen a prefatory message, try a shorter one like “In Honour Of” or remove the
prefatory message altogether.
If you’ve added U of T degrees, try a shorter format like “BA 58” or remove some degrees
altogether. You can also try typing a degree into a Name field right after the name, to
conserve lines. For example: “Ellen Price, BA 58”
If you have difficulties, please enter what you can. Then describe your full wishes in the
Comments box and we will help you meet the requirements. You can also contact us at landmark.project@utoronto.ca.
